Maleny Cheese Cafe offers a unique opportunity for you to get a true taste of the rolling hills around us. The cafe overlooks our working dairy factory. Here we produce lovingly handcrafted cheese and yoghurt from pure, locally sourced whole milk. You can enjoy these award-winning products and other local curated delights as part of our seasonally inspired menu. Or, pick up something delicious to take home with you. We offer click-and-collect too!
Maleny Cheese Cafe is currently open daily from 10 am – 3 pm with our cafe menu operating Wednesday – Sunday.
We operate under COVID-safe practices and have increased our cleaning and refined our processes to ensure your safety at all times.

What’s on the menu?
You can experience the best of Maleny Cheese dairy products in our menu of house-made specialty dishes. Our winter menu highlights include oozy baked brie served with bread or our famous Raclette (a Swiss potato dish covered with grilled cheese). Or in summer try our Cheesemaker Salad. Our signature dish all year round is our Maleny Cheeseboard, served on a locally crafted camphor laurel board (also available takeaway).
We serve Amore coffee, a delicious barista coffee provided to us by our local Sunshine Coast distributors, a local business we’ve been involved with for 16 years. We are also licensed, so you can enjoy a glass of great local wine with lunch. We love Riversands wine, which is the product of Queensland’s oldest vineyard. We cater to vegetarians and also have gluten-free options on the menu.

Maleny Cheese Cafe is a great day out for visitors to the Sunshine Coast and South-East Queensland. Learn all about the region and its 121-year history in dairy. Experience authentic farm to table culture. All Maleny Cheese dairy products use locally sourced milk from five small-herd dairy farms on the Sunshine Coast hinterland. We are advocates of slow food that is of and for the region and supporting our local community, farmers and producers.
The atmosphere is positively moooo-ving!
Situated on the main road (just look for the big cheese wedge), Maleny Cheese cafe sits proudly on the hillside. Inside is a cosy, modern and restful atmosphere without losing the feeling that you are inside a working dairy factory. This is mostly owing to our expansive viewing area. While you can’t tour the factory, we have a large internal window where you can view all the cheesemaking action on the factory floor. Our cheese and yoghurt production activity usually takes place Monday to Thursday. Our cafe and viewing area are wheelchair accessible and we have a dedicated unisex wheelchair accessible toilet and vehicle parking bay with wheelchair accessible signage within a few meters from the café entrance. We also have ample parking bays available.
Photo ops
Snap a shot of our cheesemakers at work. Or saddle up beside the big milk can or on our resident ‘cowch.’ We can also give you some great tips on nearby paddocks where you can catch a glimpse of dairy cows or horses. They’re often up for a chat with visitors and usually don’t mind the paparazzi.
Products of the region – cafe shop
Regionally sourced pantry ingredients are offered in our shop to compliment our dairy products. Each product is selected for our shop based on their authenticity, quality and taste. The goods are usually locally produced and are often incorporated into our cafe menu items as well. We know and value the story of each of the products we offer and keep our curated range fresh and local.

We also put together delectable picnic hampers, cheese boards or cheesy gifts. These can be combined with our variety of local gourmet produce. This might be a delicious bottle of Riversands wine or other culinary delights. When you buy from us, you are supporting the dreams of our local community.
